v disappointed that if I want to upgrade so that I can amend a URL for a bitlink, I have to be an 'enterprise' with a salesperson calling me back. I just want to amend a URL and given that bitlinks can't be deleted, there's no other options. WTF?

When I get insecure about gaps in quality from one of my poems to the next, I think of Babe Ruth. Most home runs. Also, most strike outs. Because he swung hard. He. Always. Swung. Hard. Some of my poem-experiments are strikeouts, some kiss stars. But I always swing hard.

I'm not saying 'agree with me' I'm saying engage with me. Tell me why I'm wrong. Tell me why my thoughts on gender are flawed. I really hope you're misreading me on purpose because it's a little scary otherwise.

yet you're arguing with me - you even came into someone else's discussion to argue with me? if you want to have an argument that involves no actual thought or substance... why do it?

I'm sure there have been some angry and unfair words uttered, but if you seriously think that the persecution of transphobes is even a fraction as incessant, widespread and physically endangering as that they eke out, you're living on a different planet

'women are adult females' no shit. You're giving me kindergarten level reasoning, please engage in what i'm saying or let's just stop here

This was meant for the other person... tho, I'm sorry but I'm not going to 'have a love day' cause I know ppl will continue to be attacked, murdered and kill themselves because many ppl would rather die on the hill of 'biology' than mitigate tremendous suffering and persecution

That's funny because I was thinking the same thing of you. Literally, every detail. I can answer everything question you raise and yet somehow we are at this impasse

Because biological sex is only a constituent part of gender, is also more complex and nuanced than you seem to realise, and c.500k Brits shouldn't live in shame & persecution when it'd be easy to provide safety & dignity? Also, you want legal rights to be based on anatomy?!

so then what on earth is your 'biological' definition based on? There is literally no facet of biology that is uniformly true of every woman 'if they're women, they're women'... 😐

you do know there's a difference between sex and gender, right? There's really no point in arguing if we're not going to get past that fact and you're just going to say 'women are women'

If anyone's listening (lolllll), and if you believe that all people deserve dignity, freedom from persecution and the right to self-determination -ie if you believe in human rights- PLEASE fill in the Gender Recognition Act consultation. It closes at 11pm.

Gender. Gender is not the same as biological sex.

Plus there are women born without uteruses or vaginas, does that mean they're not 'real' women as they don't have the requisite anatomy?

So a woman is entirely defined by their anatomy? Gender is not a social construct, but entirely the same as sex? Come ON. (also this is not even true, there are intersex people raised as female who have penises)

This argument is beyond reductive. Not all cis women have uteruses or vaginas, and you are defining womanhood entirely by anatomy. Gender is inarguably a social construct, even if it overlaps with sex... so why would you conflate the two? Also the brain is a material organ too..!

What is 'material reality'?! Gender and sex are both incredibly complex concepts biologically, psychologically, conceptually. It's pretty arrogant to say that your apprehension of someone as a man is 'reality' while their own apprehension -also based on lived experience- is false

Of course no one can tell you what to think, but why does what you think trump what the person themselves thinks? Why should your perception deny millions of people legal protection?

Fair enough. That’s definitely what I’ve heard the most, over and over again, in online discourse about this hence the assumption. But whatever the degree of nuance, I still can’t understand denying someone the basic right of recognising their identity as valid.

trans women are women. and your idea of 'conflict of interest' stems from the idea that trans women are a predatory threat to cis women, when in fact trans women are among the most vulnerable and persecuted people in all of society. ...seriously am I missing something?!
