.... (2/2) Despite this, some developers will try converting what little tax base SJ has left. A better way would be to dvlp densely in our housing-designated areas (& yes, we’re lifting single-family resrictions on many parcels), & encourage jobs-rich suburbs to actually step up

Nope, the 40K doesn’t count North SJ, & no housing was ever entitled in Coyote Valley. We have the lowest jobs-housing ratio of any major US city, & thus the most thinly staffed City for basic services. (1/2)....

You are proving my point for me w/ Campbell Ave & W. San Carlos: >40,000 units of capacity in the SJ Gen Plan, yet your clients consistently seek conversions of employment lands that violate community-supported GP while maximizing developer profit at expense of taxpayers.

Thanks. We’re adding thousands of housing units in excess of 100 units/acre along the same street, & your team sought to convert one of the very few sites that our community-driven General Plan preserved for jobs/retail, to achieve windfall for the developer at taxpayer expense.

Kelly, that’s a disingenuous response. Please be specific about the project you believed was wrongfully denied, so we can all be transparent about our interests and objectives. You took a shot—now back it up with facts, or admit it was an unfair shot.

Kelly, I don’t recall you bringing an affordable housing project to SJ City Council. Maybe you can be more specific about the project, and I can tell you (& others) why the Council and I did not approve it.

We’ve just opened a homeless shelter that focuses on helping LGBTQ+ members of our community get off the street. A disproportionally large share of our homeless population—between a quarter and a third—identify as LGBTQ+ in recent surveys.

We can start by doing a better job connecting them, with a HS rail line that provides access to jobs in Silicon Valley to Central Valley residents

Interesting response. Most of “us citizens” in SJ arent’ racist, and 40% of us were born in a foreign country. My job is to stand up for all of “us citizens,” many who fear a President who racializes political disagreements with xenophobic rants. 1 Corinthians 12:12-14
