Why I stopped practicing. If health care today mostly involves interacting with a computer, there are a host of alternative options beyond clinical practice

Why doctors dislike EHRs so much yet do nothing about them. They are main users of EHRs. Patient has no influence. Is there anyone other than doctors who can force a change in EHRs? At providers, EHR selection & Implementation committees are always full of doctors.

EHRs have three masters they must satisfy: Govt and regs, administration and billing, and docs. Govt regs is a must, administration buys the EHR - both must be satisfied for EHR Co. to exist let alone flourish. As a result, user experience becomes an afterthought.
