My #1 most-gifted book is “The Third Ear” by Joachim-Ernst Berendt. Forever changes how you think of sound.

Sounds neat(ba dum ch), will check it out. My fave book about sound/listening is “The Listening Book” by W.A. Mathieu. Delighted to find a reading of it by the author on Spotify:

That’s beautiful! Have you considered licensing it to repackage as digital copy or an audio recording?

Nah. I avoid anything that takes me away from finishing my own book. ☺

Am always nervous of books that may make me overthink favourite music and strip of its mystery. Is this a risk here?

Not at all! The opposite. It's about sound, vibration, what notes are the planets and colors, accuracy of ear vs eye, etc.

Wait a minute, my dad gave me that one ~6000 years ago and I wasn't sure what to think of it, maybe I'll give it another chance
