I spend a lot of time explaining to people how to use Twitter effectively without getting overwhelmed. From now on I’m going to just send them this terrific post by .

I would also recommend mentioning sending feedback directly to you instead of using App Store review in the welcome screen. It really made a difference to me. After I started doing that, I got a lot more feedback on email instead of App Store. Example:

Can confirm. The review prompt really helped me. Make sure you don't make it annoying though. I only show it after 5 launches. Example:

It's quite annoying seeing your app being rated badly on the App Store for what it's lacking, for what it can't do, or for features that users wish it contained, whilst other similar apps are being rated for what they currently can do.

Yes, I politely reply to every single review. At least others will see my reply and can judge for themselves.

I wish users would have to review with their real names. A lot of bad behavior happens because of anonymity. Would not fix ratings though, but would at least help with reviews. I also wish we could rate users back and a user's rating would affect their weight when rating apps.

Also, most of the crashes/problems in my apps are macOS/iOS bugs. Nothing worse than to get bad ratings for something you didn't even cause and which is often out of your control...

This so much. The worst part is that no one updates their rating/review. I fix/add things the same day, respond to the review, and nothing ever changes.

I don't know what to say. The irony is clearly lost on this user. (Same title, review from a different user).

Could be, yes. Just weird to convert "sometime in the future" to "you've been dead for 2940 years".

Looks like Gmail had a bug at some point. I just discovered a large number of emails that were snoozed until January year 3000. 🤷

My take on it: IBM won't know about or care about a tiny app. Renaming is easy if it ever comes to that, which is highly unlikely. I also think you're overestimating how many people know about an office suite from 20 years ago.
