There is no legal requirement for a referendum in NI. There are institutions, and if necessary a Westminster parliament, that could legislate. A referendum would give a mandate but also drag women through public humiliation and shaming. A big cost for political cowardice.

Nazir Afzal, who is of Pakistani heritage, has done FAR, FAR more to expose and put away grooming gangs than a convicted fraudster like Tommy Robinson. Robinson can rot in jail for all I care, that's where he belongs.

This is really important. keeps saying the vast majority in NI are against a woman's right to choose. This is brazen, bare-faced...

So, private student accommodation providers then: not only do they not pay anything to the council towards their share of cost of running city (which I object to), they pay barely any tax at all, & charge students a fortune. This must change!

The only woman currently exercising choice over abortion in Northern Ireland is Arlene foster - she chooses to put having seat at table in Westminster above the desire for change from local community to make sure all women have equal access to reproductive rights

Wonder what Theresa May would've tweeted if the referendum had voted no.

For any British men talking or writing about in relation to Brexit or dry constitutional stuff, look at this crowd. This really was something else.

To our sisters in Northern Ireland, we will fight this with you. We will keep fighting until all women in the U.K. have equal rights.

A woman I wish I’d been taught about in history class. Kitty Marion was a central organiser for the Suffragettes & Planned Parenthood. And a bomber. tells me why we can be grateful to movements that brought change without sanitising them.

It's horrendous- human rights are rights, not something to be gifted by popular vote. There is no need to have a referendum in the uk as our laws are different - such a Tory cop out to suggest it.
