Been saying for awhile now that our fight is with insurance companies to lower healthcare premiums to individuals, schools, and companies if an AT is hired because we prevent injuries and perform emergency care that lowers the amount of wasteful ER visits & decreases overall cost

Not sure. Those conditions are typically due to additional bone growth which this is the rotation of the long bone. Seems to start in retroversion and through development transition to anteversion.

Do you have any info on the mechanisms involved with retroversion/antereversion of the femur or humerus? Seems to be related to mechanical stress from the torque above and below the growth plates but I haven’t seen any basic science examining it directly.

I would have them pass a control/command test. If they can location their pitches and know how to sequence a hitter effectively then sure but I don’t think many 12 year olds will pass that test.

I’m talking relative time not absolute.

There is always a range but I feel it should be between 30 and 60 of external rotation. That will allow momentum to get the arm into layback instead of you actively forcing it there. Just like how you get pushed back into the seat if you floor the gas.

Definitely agree! I feel that extra time gives your shoulder time to get in the correct position at foot contact and allow momentum and stretch reflexes to do their job up the chain.

In adults w/ mid-portion Achilles tendinopathy, heel lifts were more effective than calf muscle eccentric exercise in reducing pain & improving function at 12 weeks. But, patients may not experience a clinically worthwhile difference between interventions.
