It reads like a student paper where it's obvious they couldn't meet the word count so they stretch out descriptions. Like all he wanted to write was "I am disappointed she didn't make me feel anything in my pants" but then had to deconstruct her haircut to fulfill the brief.

Anthony Lane needs to be fired or at least reprimanded. Most of his articles about women are creepy and objectifying.

As a male film critic, I thought the unglamorous look Kirke sported in "Gemini" was the point of the character: a worker bee in the Hollywood hive, doing her work unobtrusively while her boss, the star, got the glory.

Why do film critics exist anyhow? I don’t want another person telling me how I should feel about a film. Movies are personal experiences that I will or won’t have. Critics need to disappear, they have and will continue to be useless.

1) To tell you about a movie you didn't know existed, but might like. 2) To compare notes with, to see if you liked the same things. 3) To point out things you might have missed. 4) To start a conversation, even an argument, about what's good.

That's not a film review. It's a boring and lazy attack on an actor ad hominem. So passé. .

Can’t someone just not like something without being accused of being a sexist or racist or whatever ?

The face I make when I realize I’ve also sported Lola Kirke’s “haircut from hell.”

Between his archaic view on women and his charming love affair with comma splices, I can absolutely see why you employ this man

You're a patient, saint of a man, Sean. I would have simply replied: "your mom's useless"

"I thought Lola's outfit and hair were trash." Masses: "Sexist POS!" I didn't care for Black Panther. Masses: "Racist POS!"
