Why push publishers to post page numbers on the website rather than pushing them to outright eliminate page numbers all together. If you have author+title+venue+journal/conference+DOI, I don't see how other info like page, issue, volume, or society is useful.

No. Never even heard "shite" or "arse" until my 20s. From the US (the south and the west coast).

Why is number of pages or page number important?

I make a list of each claim in the manuscript and then describe the strength of evidence for each. Then recommend which claims are well supported or need to be strengthened, dropped, or clarified.

I'm glad you liked my confetti illusion! Just for fun, here's the equivalent 2D illusion, using exactly the same base color, with disks instead of spheres. The apparent color contrasts are actually stronger, but the image as a whole seems less striking.

Pre-registration doesn’t dampen exploratory work. What it dampens is our ability to pass exploratory work off as confirmatory. Anyone still confused can come to my office hours.

ok we are writing a lab handbook so I spent my afternoon reading 25 lab handbooks to figure out all the things that people put in lab handbooks. here they are so that you don't have to read 25 lab handbooks. (this is not exhaustive and many of the topics overlap, obvi) 1/

These kinds of thoughtful (and time consuming, I’m sure!) open reviews are a great service to the field. A good reminder of the kind of valuable info that can get lost/hidden when reviews aren’t open. Keep β€˜em coming !

Already 20 datasets in the confidence database and we expect to double or triple this number by the end of June. Two more weeks left to contribute!
