Brilliant thread on why some headlines do not please some people some of time, but there’s almost always a good reason why that is the case!

The latest argument from those who are more afraid of the children who wants a future than of the climate crisis is that we don’t have any “solutions” to the climate crisis. Here is my reply to those who keep on lying, spreading hate and knowingly leave out facts:

This is a really good read about a marauding dragon and the people who are taking it on and need our help.

A city of half a million people was just wiped off the Earth by a cyclone. Has your news outlet covered it today? Thinking of all our Mozambican brothers and sisters and how their reality today is our reality of tomorrow. Let's get to work. Beira

When 90% of a city gets wiped out, you might think it would merit just a little coverage by our news media? Doh! Sorry, it's in Africa. Therefore off the media map, unless it's terrorism.

Racism, Bigotry, Islamophobia are being normalized. Please don’t be silent. Not on twitter. Not in your families. Not in your schools. Not at your work places. Not in your communities. Speak. Shout. Resist the forces that tell us hate is okay. It is not okay.

stated facts and offered her pity to you. Your response is unsurprising but extremely sad. Your bitterness is hurting you. We all see it. Seek help please. I remember when you weren’t like this.

Anyone who says white privilege does not exist should look long and hard at how the (largely white) media bends over backwards to soften the image of a far-right murderer.

This is disgusting. If a brown man killed 49 white people, the paper wouldn’t call the killer a “working class madman”

Just want to reiterate the importance of this moment: The UN Secretary General has essentially admitted the failure of all previous climate action, and has vowed for a fresh and more urgent approach as a direct response to today's youth . That's huge.

You’ve got to be kidding with this garbage, . I don’t expect Western rhetoric about Islam and the constant death and dehumanisation of Muslims to be sophisticated, compassionate or thoughtful but this is disgustingly insensitive and indecent.

So much netting in the news lately and now this - using netting to prevent swallows from nesting. Swallows. Declining species that fly here from sub-saharan Africa only to have access to the nest they've used for years denied. PLs RT to get this stopped.
