These horrendous acts of violence needs to be condemned by all groups. If we leave only to the Dalit committees and not be part of the activism against caste discrimination, these atrocities will continue and even be justified in our societies.

UN hypocrisy on bullying and sexual harassment. Some may actually remember this man from his UNICEF stint in Kathmandu office.

This seems like a well-researched write-up on the Nirmala Rape Case. Explains few things I didn't understand before and clarifies several misreporting.

As a former Chevening scholar, I am ashamed... Speaking of inclusion, let me add that I have found the presence of non-white expats to be pretty rare in most bilateral aid offices.

Much work on the Maoist movement in Nepal focuses on guerilla warfare in the mountains. But writing the Maoist movement as a guerilla warfare alone constructs a kind of exotica. via

I have no problem with the oped and knowing BishwoJi from my DC days, I read with interest. What I was pointing to in my tweet was: why is our understanding of "economic" so myopic? Why isn't there diversity of persons, opinions, disciplines? We are outdated in this regard :)

Too bad because op-ed is the only space available for public intellectuals without access to the corridors of power or those who want to register disagreement with the pahunchwalas.

Any new beginning is welcome sir, as long as it achieves even a single success in terms of diversity and inclusion, both corporeal and ideological, towards cracking unhealthy myths of development. Let's see if they will choose to step down from their elite pedestals this time.

I am hoping that 's frank and honest reporting on the loss of BP's legacy would lead to a meaningful and inclusive debate on development.
