Painfully familiar. This feels as real as a cut in the skin. And I don't think this is serendipity; this is not re bygone times either. This is still true today & reflects institutional politics in most places. Same goes for all other biases of ethnicity, caste, colour, religion.

We need to in Washington. Let’s ✅Close the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington ✅End lobbying as we know it ✅Ban foreign governments from hiring lobbyists in Washington ✅Fix the Swiss cheese definition of “lobbyist"

Nothing like a fellow anthropologist/sociologist sharing his/her views. I am obliged, sir, thanks again. New authors have, at times, felt orphaned. Disciplinary engagement is the oxygen for new academic scholarship. And tks to for the space.

Very first review done by a fellow anthropologist -- I dont have words to thank , because, let's face it, there has been almost no response from other anthropoligists and economists, the two disciplines I made so much efforts to engage with.

Yes is absolutely right re dilemma of pricing & access for books. We write as part of global academia but this shd not mean lack of access to Nepali readers beyond academia. Also, that this is a book written by a Nepali academic shd not mean it is not global enough.

Disgusted. And this went on for so long? Also wrong of the VC to say students "should have" come to authorities before going to media when he himself says in the next line TU doesn't have an independent mechanism for this.

This news about a new generation of female democrat politicians challenging elite-white feminism is great. It also brings home the point: the opposition is perhaps more important when we seek meaningful transformation.
