I have watched all the major interviews of players/coaches re: Kobe's sudden passing. There are two people which stood out to me for their piercing words: Shaq's session on NBA on TNT; and both Jerry West interviews. All 3 are brutal to listen to.

Makes sense. The two people that were right there with him during the lowest lows and highest highs.

The most crushing part of the Shaq session was his saying he hadn’t spoken to Kobe since his last game in 2016 - that blew my mind

Shaq forgot he and Kobe had a sit down interview and they had spoken in 2018. In his grief he forgot about that. He was reminded by EJ/Kenny/Barkley. But yeah, Shaq was affected a lot by Kobe's passing.

The Shaq interview 😢 Brought back so many memories watching them play in the 90s when I was growing up in LA. They were such an iconic duo and I couldn’t imagine them not playing together.
