We want to ensure that patients know the answers to these 4 key questions: 1. What is the matter with me? 2. What is going to happen to me today? 3. What do I need to do to get home? 4. When am I going home? Patient information leaflets are available on every ward

Encouraging patients to take an active role in their care is vital. For example, patient empowerment is an integral part of the WHO hand hygiene multimodal strategy. I think patient empowerment should be an integral part in enhancing flow too.
