means everyone should get the same level of proper medical care, without bias from racism, bigotry, ableism, socioeconomic status, various kinds of insurance or lack thereof

We're never going to reach and solve disparities if we don't dismantle institutional -isms. I won't pretend I know exactly how to do that but I know there's people who are experts in racism or transmisia or classism and I know they have ideas.

matters because you should have access to the same level of care, same treatments no matter what zip code you live in or if you're insured. And the quality of insurance shouldn't dictate the steps you are forced to take for treatment.

Many people cannot get diagnosis, treatment, or other supports--leading to further disability and even death. Systemic racism, sexism, implicit bias--they all curtail what care is given. I think of the higher maternal death rate of black women.

A4: data security& privacy for online systems in medical information, including patient portals and telehealth- is my top concern/problem set. I know there really is none between legal loopholes, spying agencies & hackers & yet that shows a key problem

Topic 3 1- everyone should receive a standard level of good care, with known established minimums 2- in the event that this doesn't happen, there needs to be an independent body to report & escalate issues to, that medical professionals are accountable to.

A1: is a way for people in all different minority groups with their cultural and geographical differences to get the best care for their needs, as opposed to having a stripping of their cultures or changing where they live demanded4 receiving treatment.

Topic 2: So many ways - whether doctors take you seriously, whether you can get the treatments you need, whether you have enough money to buy things that help, whether you live in an area with environmental triggers.

A3: my top ask is for in person appointments with specialists to be an option,in addition to telehealth. I live in a semirural area & while I don't need home visits, I would like to see specialists at my PCPs clinic-which is under 1mile from my home.⤵

matters because we're don't all have equal access to care due to a multitude of factors. Health equity itself would be giving everyone what they need to access proper care - although that would vary based on how society and medicine treat us.
