Vitamin C is required to synthesize catecholamines like epinephrine and can reactivate ROS scavengers; some studies have shown decreased pressor requirements in septic patients who got Vitamin C

Celulitis coverage in a nutshell: purulent = staph = TMP/SMX or doxy or vanc if sick; non-purulent = strep = keflex or zosyn+vanc+clinda if sick. No need for double coverage in outpatient rx

Tetanus treatment is 4-fold: halt toxin production with wound debridement & abx (pcn or metronidazole), neutralize unbound toxin w IM human tetanus imune globulin (at a site away from vax), active immunization, and supportive care with benzos, mechanical ventilation, etc

Organophosphate toxicity p/w the typical muscarinic ‘DUMBBELS’ symptoms (caution with those killer B’s), but it can be confounded by action at nicotinic receptors with ‘MTWtHF’ symptoms. Keep these in mind and remember to decontaminate first!

Today I learned in , that if you are a trained EM ultrasonographer then you are a man with a hammer and to you everything looks like a nail. Except it's a hammer with a multitool in it and virtually everything IS a nail.
