You did the right thing—and you knew it the moment after you sent the email.

Lesson #3: A little encouragement goes a long way. I showed up, and I encouraged Shawn. Shawn sent me a message, and he encouraged me. I spent some hours drawing, transcribing, captioning, and animating something that helpfully encourages you. Who will you encourage?

That was a mistake (you're probably making the same mistake right now). I start with a COMMITMENT to show up. I will show up every day. That's the end result. It's not, "Will I show up?" It's "What will I say today?"

Lesson #2: Opportunities to create content are all around you. I literally just made content from my friend's comment on my own content. You see? There's no lack. There's no shortage. I used to wait until I "had something to say".

Lesson #1: When you show up, you inspire others to do the same. I set out in 2019 to stop overthinking. I wanted to create more and share more, and things are off to a great start—enough for my friend to notice and get inspired to share more himself.

I share the message because I think we can pull at least three lessons from this:

My good friend, sent me this audio message. I asked him for permission to share it with you. I decided to transcribe it and draw some sketches to make it more fun to watch.

Yeah. I want 4K though for social videos, such as Instagram stories (1920p vertical). Obviously this is the first one, so we'll see, but I think my workflow will be to make clips from the 4K footage week of and then archive as 1080p.

I mean it's just drag and drop from the locally attached drive to the network attached drive as far as workflow goes, but that's why it's not as fast as copying to my internal SSD (which would not have enough space).

Well, no. But I assumed LT was pretty poor. Is ProRes LT actually usable? I didn't think it was a good option.

512 SSD → Mac Pro → Ethernet → Mac Mini → Pegasus 32TB.

Recorded our first full-length podcast (~2 hours) in 4Kp24, ProRes 422. Literally filled both attached 512GB hard drives! ☠ This workflow is gonna be intense. Don't worry though, I have Apple's newest Mac Pro! Oh wait—that's 2013.
