USPS workers are resisting orders so they can deliver mail on time. Mechanics in NY aren't removing mail sorters. Ohio clerks rescue prescriptions from stalled bins & deliver mail off-hours. In Pa., carriers make excuses to buy time to finish their routes.

Jargon isn't a sign of expertise; it's a signal of insecurity. 9 studies: when people lack status, they resort to unnecessarily technical language in an attempt to look smart. When they have status, they're more concerned with communicating clearly.

"Desire for status is one reason why academic men [sic] slip so readily into unintelligibility. And that, in turn, is one reason why they do not have the status they desire." - C. Wright Mills, The Sociological Imagination (p 218)

That is why I don’t see this article having the impact people assume it will have. The Christian right knows and doesn’t care. Also, of course, will they even see or believe anything from The Atlantic? Not likely.

They will say Trump’s own morals and ethics are irrelevant because. “God uses imperfect people to carry out His perfect plan,” or some variant. They will say it’s not about them. “See! We’re willing to be conned and mocked to promote God’s will through Trump!”

The Christian right knows who he is. They don’t care as long as he’s doing their bidding. He’s conning them? Or maybe they’re conning him. This is a transactional relationship for both sides. Trump Secretly Mocks His Christian Supporters

I’m waiting for more details on the Wilbur Ross story. But if it turns out we’re at the point where the administration is going to flatly refuse to comply with court orders, well, that would be the opening of the sixth seal.
