Trump gave Amazon a giant tax cut. Amazon received a $129 million rebate from taxpayers last year. Their tax rate was - 1%. Yang wants to make sure Amazon starts paying federal taxes and that you get $1,000/mo as your dividend check instead of nothing.

So Assange is your primary issue? And it doesn't even matter to you that Yang is for protecting whistleblowers? So Assange is more important to you than Manning or Snowden?

NIT and UBI are two ways of doing the same thing. The clawback of UBI is doing through taxes on earned income. The Freedom Dividend is essentially a negative consumption tax with a 10% clawback rate.

Another way of asking this question in a parallel universe where everyone has a UBI of $1k/mo is "Won't we improve people's incentive to work if we withhold the income people need to live, and only give it to them in exchange for doing what masters want?"

“By ensuring or improving one’s economic security, basic income decouples such security from attachment to the paid labour market and supports the pursuit of non-market work that actually may be far more important for community well-being, sustainability and survival,”

This article doesn't mention unconditional basic income once, but if you take the time to read it, you will see just how important UBI is in creating a better-functioning society. Poverty and lack of economic security hurts us all.
