Imagine being the sort of petulant tantrum-throwing shitball who would not vote for the Democratic nominee against our current actual criminal bigot dimwit president, just because you couldn't have exactly who you wanted, waaaaaaaah twitter.com/amjoyshow/stat…

Don’t have to imagine, we saw it play out in 2016 and a certain percentage of people on Twitter are super stoked to do it again

Or they're mostly centrist without strong convictions and/or are satisfied with the current system.

Look, John, it's as simple as this:
As an American voter, I demand nothing less than a Cheeseburger. If, instead, you place a Hamburger WITHOUT cheese in front of me, you leave me absolutely no choice but to walk away and eat poo out of the litter box.

Maybe if they didn't promise a cheeseburger, then shit on a slice of bread and call it a hamburger every time for the past 30 years id be more willing to believe it was really a hamburger this time

I don't get this argument. The poll supports the idea that Bernie turns out disaffected voters, which is one reason his proponents say he would have a better chance of winning.

That's one interpretation; it would be equally valid to say that the poison regularly spewed by Bernie's online supporters - not Bernie himself - has the effect of creating cultic politics that turn people away from other solutions - c.f. their treatment of Warren.

Clearly the solution to this problem is to vote for Bernie Sanders in the primaries so we don’t have to worry about a big chunk of his base not voting in November.

This sounds like a great plan. The supporters of each candidate can refuse to vote for the eventual nominee in hope the masses will capitulate and see things their way. We can have Republicans in power forever.
