I got confused by his picture and thought it was my friend, Dog Gottlieb.

The scheduling and MTE stuff is so chaotic at the moment, and so much can/will change, but will say if you’re a fan of a team in one of these events, know they’re really struggling to stay afloat: Puerto Rico Cayman Islands Classic Paradise Jam Junkanoo Jam

At least one league (and I expect more) outside of the power 6-7 (depending on your definition) are assessing if they will need to increase the number of conference games if its members can’t land enough non-conference games.

The plans on starting league play Dec. 30 but may float some league games earlier. A-10 teams will play non-conference games.

The Bonnies will be able to play up to six non-league games in addition to a 3-game Paradise Jam and 18-game A10 slate.

Had the committee approved a Nov. 21 start date, the Paradise Jam would have been 11/21-11/23. We'll see if they now schedule it for Nov. 25, or possibly stick with their Friday-Monday format and just push it back a week (11/27-11/30).

Not that us Bona fans need any extra incentive to party, but college hoops is starting on one of the biggest drinking days of the year.

The Paradise Jam is being moved. Nashville and Phoenix were listed as potential alternatives to the Virgin Islands.

Fittingly, we had 7 confirmed opponents once the Ivy League cancelled their season and Yale was scratched: Home: Canisius, Colgate, MTSU, Siena, SUNY-Amherst Away: New Mexico, Niagara. Whether these all happen or one was pushed to 2021 for another opponent remains to be seen.

If the 28-game max is approved Wednesday, the Bonnies could potentially play up to seven non-conference games over the 5-6 weeks between the Paradise Jam and beginning of A10 play.

The Bonnies would kick things off with the Paradise Jam if a Nov. 21 start date is approved this week. Three games in three days.

Oversight committees agree to propose Nov. 21 as new start date for college basketball season, with 13-game minimum and 28-game maximum. D-I Council will have its say on Wednesday, when it and can approve or amend proposals.

With the vote on when and how the season start this week I believe that preserving MTEs is huge step to making the logistics manageable. There aren’t any reasons why MTEs at off-campus facilities can not be played prior to the general student population leaving at Thanksgiving.

The Bonnies check in at a very respectable #60 in College Sports Madness's Top 144 preview. That's good for 3rd in the A10 behind Richmond and SLU. Others in the top 100: Dayton (65), UMass-Amherst (72), Duquesne (80), Davidson (100).

Word is they're looking into playing it in Nashville or Phoenix. I think it'll happen, just not in the Virgin Islands.

A lot of proposals must be on the table, but if this one happened, hypothetically it'd mean the Paradise Jam, an 18-game A10 slate, and six other non-conference games for the Bonnies.
