Is this some kind of joke? But it isn’t April 1st. Is this really how elected senators behave?

But what is peace but the space that is revealed in the absence of bad experience? And what is growth apart from an increased ability to live peacefully with oneself and others? Isn't the utility of the bad experience simply being better able to handle them later?

I agree we're many decades out from earnestly colonizing Mars. We'll have to get much wealthier, where "wealth" = new innovations in human wellbeing *and* reduced scarcity of those we have. But: the light bulb is <150 years old. There are people alive today born before penicillin

We should definitely aim for an end game when all sentient beings are living in something resembling a utopia. It's like those drug experiments where the rats in "rat paradise" preferred water to cocaine-water, we should make an "everyone-paradise". It'll be fun.

Phenotypes change naturally over the course of time though? We don't view it as an ethical imperative to ensure that the conditions of nature remain in such a way, that animals preserve their present day forms.

Me: We should genetically-modify lions to be herbivores : Lions should stay as they are, we should regularly airdrop them shipments of clean meat *spirited bickering ensues*

I've thought about this question as well, and it is my intuition that this is also a solvable problem. The first solution of genetic modification has the advantage of being a permanent solution that doesn't require perpetual input.

Words are for serving the message, not vis-versa. Throughout school, the message between the lines is that the point of writing is to communicate something about *you* β€” what you know, what you read, how clever you are. It's no wonder so few people can write for a reader.

Sorry, you bought about this for a while. Do you mean it tries to make the message more impactful than as if the raw data alone were presented?

I feel like I encounter tweets often, that express something well or point out hypocrisy but could have been made much more sincerely. I suppose I should just point this out...
