In our new pandemic barter economy, am doing the most middle class swap known to man. A friend is bringing me a Gail’s Bakery cinnamon bun in exchange for a punnet of Isle Of Wight cherry tomatoes on the vine that I over-ordered from Ocado.

Oh, they’ve always had a minimum spend for in store delivery. You had me worried there for a moment that society was going to rack and ruin.

My dads name was Gordon. He didn’t like the song much either, especially as used to sing it all the time.

Mrs Miniver is, quite rightly, a classic. Millions Like Us. If you don't already then often show some really good, not the usual, WW2 films.

I hate cauliflower. Hate it. But once in Paris, I had tempura cauliflower and it was lovely. But I suppose most things are lovely when fried in batter!

I love this time capsule house. That bathroom suite! The cooker! The tiles in the downstairs loo! More pink velvet armchairs than anyone could possibly need!

This piece is absolutely fascinating and incredibly helpful: basically, wear a mask, sit outside and invest in a firepit so you can keep sitting outside as winter approaches.

Thrilled to get a copy of ’s new novel, The Boldness Of Betty, about the Dublin lockout of 1913 from the point of view of 13 year old Betty, who joins the strike. I know Anna has put her everything into this book and I can’t wait to read it.
