How do people have......faith Like that maybe sounds rhetorical or sarcastic but is more like "I don't understand and need an instructional booklet like what come with appliances. A step by step. A WikiHow"

People who responded to this to just talk about faith being a bad thing: why why did you think this was the context for that

Personally, by obsessively researching spiritual/paranormal phemonena and listening to personal accounts. My brain will Not accept anything without proof that at least Sounds Legit, so I try to overwhelm it with SEE, LOOK, IT’S SAFE TO BELIEVE THIS.

By this point my brain generally accepts the Occam’s Razor supposition of ‘okay what is more likely, that every single story of experiencing SOMETHING out there, in all their myriad forms, are 100% bullshit, OR, a SINGLE ONE is true - which is ALL that needs be?’

There are multiple cultures that believe the divine is in the air we breathe. That connection with breath is how you commune with others and with the rest of the natural world & everything in it. We share air with plants, pets, people...

Water has similar numinosity if you think of how fast clouds float across the sky and that raindrops falling on your house can come from another part of the world then go back into the atmosphere to keep traveling on.

Do you mean like, a specific religious faith, or the broad concept of hope?

I guess my main thing is wondering about faith in something...bigger than yourself. A God or some kind of universal system or. Something. Else. Being there. I don't know if that makes sense?

It's "the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen" It is ridiculous. It doesn't make sense. And yet. And yet. We breathe in, and move through the day as if there is something bigger than ourselves. Something good out there. some plan. Some meaning.

We have faith that there is more, that something good can happen, and that in turn helps us feel part of a great good, so we can bring a little of our own light to some pretty dark corners.
