Which is why you see so many companies focusing solely on recruiting and STEM education, without doing any kind of work to improve internal inclusiveness and equity. They simply [w|d]on't believe the problem is coming from inside the house, no matter how often the data shows it.

Remidns me of how orchestras around the country began hiding their auditioning prospects from judges behind black curtains, and suddenly these "meritocratic" institutions saw massive rises in the employment of women and PoC.

Yes! Excited to cosponsor this legislation. We are the ONLY advanced economy that doesn't guarantee some form of paid leave. No new mother should be forced to work simply because she can't afford not to.

Survey finds white men leaders assume the biggest issue in racial and ethnic diversity is having a pipeline of candidates, but employees of color claim the biggest problems are bias, sponsorship, promotion, and advancement. (No surprises here...)

Hey, an FYI to my Minnesotan peeps. There's a bill in the legislature to ban conversion therapy; the anti-trans forces are trying to get "gender identity" removed from it. Email your legislators and tell them that conversion therapy isn't any more OK for trans kids than gay kids.

Am I getting this right: Esquire put a random white kid on the cover and wrote a story about him? In the middle of Black History Month? DIVERSIFY YOUR NEWSROOMS AND PUBLICATIONS.

I just got off a flight in Arkansas... while waiting on the jetway to issue a complaint to the captain, he grabbed me by my neck and told me to “come here,” shouts at me in front of passengers, **THEN** Calls the POLICE. This is how treats their Platinum members.

Language learning friends: The Chrome extension "Language Learning with Netflix" lets you watch foreign media with subtitles in English AND the original language! It helps me 1) pick up what's being spoken and 2) visually pair a word with its English translation. Sehr nützlich!

Wow, y’all. This sums it up the problem so perfectly. Lisa says, hey this list is great! Try expanding to more underrepresented, too. Paul says, naw, I’m good. I got my wife here. He’s not even trying to be myopic, but he’s succeeding. And it’s not just Paul, this is the norm.
