WayFair donating to the Red Cross instead of to organizations like RAICES that are actually freeing immigrant families is a great representation of how corporate philanthropy works.

Folks, don't forget while boycotting that you should also be boycotting their subsidiaries , , , and . They are all the same company with the same products.

Almost every discussion I see in private women-in-tech groups is about managing these toxic situations. The tech stuff? We got that, no problem. It’s the hostile culture that wears us down.

The ironic thing is people living in poverty are already better budgeters than the people who think budgeting will help. I tell people this every time they have the nerve to ask me if we suggest “personal budgeting classes” for people The helps with water bills.

I mean, now that I have spoken at enough conferences to create a network of friends who I can hang out with, it's been much better for me. But I remember how totally isolating that first WWDC was and THAT'S the experience we're giving to those new to the iOS community?! Not ok

Yep. The difference between the two events is astounding, and it even extends to other conferences within those communities as well. I’m always tempted to go back to Android dev because the community is so much more welcoming and inclusive.

Every time I comment about my poor experience at WWDC I get a bunch of defensive/dismissive comments, many from employees, and nothing ever changes. Many women iOS devs I know refuse to attend because they don’t see the value in paying $$$$ to feel excluded. Including me

Humans being detained, dehumanized, and dying should be a national emergency. These families are seeking help by coming to the US and we are killing them and creating lasting trauma that is life long.

This is not what a *public* university should be doing. It's supposed to serve the needs of the whole public, not just conservatives. These professors are getting hired as political appointees, not on merit. These controlling mfs are hell-bent on destroying our entire society.

Sunoco let a refinery explode that could have killed everyone in Philly from bone-melting hydroflouric (HF) acid clouds Sunoco delayed warnings, lied re risk, & have f'ed up maintenance for years It would cost them 3 hours of revenue to switch to a safer process. They refuse.

A note on coaching: this coach holds me accountable to what I say I'll do and responds with feedback. If you are depressed or burned out, I think that needs to be address that first with therapy, rest. Or it'll feel like trying to progress in a sport while injured.
