Very sad that discharged sewage into our chalk stream from Sewage Treatment Works on the 24th September following heavy rain. This is what the River Chess looked like during the discharge

I met them today. They took away as many dead fish as they could (30), unfortunately nothing still alive. They told me that where I had placed the 60 we rescued to a lake up the road, was where they had also moved others. They thanked me for our efforts. All good.

Spoke to the EA this morning, they have been re-locating fish to the same lake that I did further upstream. They were thankful for our efforts.

Now 12.15 and still waiting..... Just relieved we did rescue so many yesterday as this obviously isn’t a reliable service.

The majority survived despite being found dying in a shallow muddy puddle. It was a mission against the clock!

The environmental agency are blaming a hot summer and a lack of cold wet winters. This has suddenly happened this week in Old Amersham. One day flowing, two days later nothing.

Reported, they had no record of any other complaints. An officer will look into this ASAP.
