I'm visiting the studios today to record an episode of Triangulation and talk about my upcoming book. Do you have any questions about the software on the original iPhone, iPad, or Safari 1.0? I'll try to answer some on the show.

About 7 years ago I put on an NVIS SX-111 headset and tried a rough, unshippable VR version of L4D2. That was at the beginning of us joining the anti-flock around VR. Turns out the bottom of that tarpit was full of neat stuff.

and always inches, never pixels. I still get a kick out of defining constants that I've measured directly with a ruler

Wonderful documentation not only of Omar's very interesting Dynamicland project, but more generally of what it's like to play/make/think in this space, where physical objects compose naturally with legible computation and with each other. It's hard to describe Dynamicland.

📝 I've written about Geokit, my mapping system : It's a pretty detailed explanation of both 'what it does' and 'how it's made' which might help illustrate what's so unique about Dynamicland

Finally wrote up a project from almost two years ago. Wacky looking optimized building layouts. Hallways growth with ant-colony algo, etc. Spent a tremendous amount of time on it then decided it was too silly.
