Depends on the application, there is a lot of nuance with complex distributed systems. An argument “against” e2e encryption is operational concerns, key management is hard and clients (and dev teams) get this wrong.

We put together a site to look for applied crypto research. Eprint is great, but wading through 1500 papers/yr for 100 practical papers is 💩. Join us and help out! acrab.org #RealWorldCrypto

Algorithms to live by: This is a bit more “geeky”, but incredibly powerful. The title explains it all, it uses computer science to come up with creative solutions to daily problems. From knowing when to stop searching to optimizing different work tasks.

The Black Swan:The Impact of the Highly Improbable. I read this book last year and it opened my eyes to how we perceive unlikely events. This is useful in the domain of security because we deal with unknowns all the time. But the book is broader and applies to more than our work

Thinking, Fast and Slow. I started re-reading the earlier this month and I was reminded of how insightful and useful it is. At the end of every chapter it comes with a number of helpful questions that introduce rational reasoning in a highly opinionated discussion
