I know the vast amount of focus is on the immediate future of the Mueller probe, but it's also wild that Whitaker, with this resume, is now the chief law enforcement officer in the country.

his resume is that he was chief of staff for Ashcroft and then US Attorney in Iowa. That's actually his resume.

not saying there aren't other things in his life history that aren't problematic, but the "resume" makes him perfectly suited to be acting AG

i'm aware of those points too. this is still an unusual resume for an AG (but, hey, look at Bobby K!), even an acting one. and the path he's taken to rise in the Trump administration is HIGHLY unusual

He rose thru cronyism. We know because he was a nobody in Iowa who got noticed only after he started stroking the maga phallic in CNN. Podhoretz wants to pretend otherwise.

was not confirmed by the U.S. Senate & thus, per the U.S. Constitution, has no official authority.

And as Sessions' deputy, it's Rod Rosenstein who currently HAS this authority. And he IS currently overviewing the Mueller investigation. So what is Whitaker doing there? He has no business there! (Except from Trump's point of view 😌)

I was thinking about that this morning in comparison to the years of service of Sally Yates. It’s a travesty.

I don't get this. What's the point of Senate confirmations if u can just pick anyone? Why didn't he just pick Don Jr. to be the new AG?
