DV is a primary factor in homelessness for women and LGBTQ+ folks AND a primary risk factor for trafficking. we should see this as connected to organizing happening from mamas in Oakland, to the destruction and removal of homeless folks in DC. housing is repro + gender justice!

Last week, the U.S. assassinated senior Iranian official Qassem Suleimani on Iraqi soil, in what was tantamount to a declaration of war against Iran and an escalation of two decades of U.S. sanctions on Iran.

Teenage boys with more progressive views about gender are half as likely to engage in violent behaviors as peers with rigid views about masculinity and gender, new study finds. Another reason to be explicit about gender equity in early childhood education.

Thoughts are scattered, but prisons are sites of sexual violence DAILY so imagining a world without them would actually lower the occurrence of violence.

Chrystul Kizer should be free, and given support and resources for her ongoing safety and healing. Survivors are too often criminalized for fighting back against their abusers. Prison is not the answer or the antidote for the cycles of violence survivors endure.

This case exemplifies the inability of the police & legal system to address sexual violence in ways that don’t cause more harm. The abuser was formerly charged and freed. Affirmative defense was ruled out. Zero investment in the care and protection of the girls who were harmed.

Today is international day to end violence against sex workers, and if there's anything we should be doing, its ensuring trans sex workers have safe housing.
