dubai lighting up the burj khalifa with the flag of lebanon is so useless and idk why people are admiring it. the cost that went into displaying the flag could’ve been sent to the country as aid to assist those affected by the attack.

For everybody wondering, the Lebanese Red Cross is an independent organization, the money donated to them goes directly to them & 93% goes towards humanitarian aid and their work. The government does not control this organization so please donate through their app or website❤️🇱🇧

Tonight people in Beirut are going to sleep in shattered homes, during a deadly pandemic, with a collapsing economy led by corrupt politicians, surrounded by countries that have attacked & threatened them and a world that has abandoned them and their refugees. They deserve better

Your timely reminder that billionaires pledged millions while that building was burning. An entire country stands on the brink of famine and economic collapse so where are those pledges to help actual human beings in need?

The extent of the devastation in Beirut isn’t even fully captured in this video. The port - a critical entry point for any city/state - has been completely destroyed.

Just a reminder that a fifth of Lebanon's total population are refugees. A small country collapsing under a series of calamities is coping with more than any current Western society could imagine.

As smoke clears, port of Beirut devastated- added to casualties- billons of $ in imports including national wheat silos-seem to have been eviscerated. Homes shattered for miles. Damages will be massive and could not come at worse time when everyone is broke and hungry

I'm afraid to find out how much wheat was vaporized at the port silos when Lebanon is suffering a devastating economic crisis and the collapse of the lira. On top of all of the damage to the city.

Hundreds wounded, who/why still unknown. Devastating - Lebanon has gone through so much in the last few months: including economic devastation which has left countless refugees, migrant workers and the poor to face starvation. Hoping there isn't further destabilization.
