Every African-American who died before today never lived in a United States of America in which lynching was a federal crime.

He’s consistent: The bill making lynching a federal hate crime sailed through the House, but Rep. Louie Gohmert was the lone Texan to vote against it. He’s always hated hate-crime laws, this one perhaps not as much as most. -

Russia and China are taking different but equally dangerous approaches to coronavirus. One is spreading lies. The other is saying nothing about it to their people.

Nirenberg, Wolff want coronavirus evacuees treated at Lackland. Sen. John Cornyn, meanwhile, knew about their concerns, saying they felt 'local health care facilities were not really adequate,' but but his position on the matter isn't clear. |

Nirenberg, Wolff want coronavirus evacuees treated at Lackland. The Pentagon, which hadn’t answered their letter last night, doesn’t want to risk its troops by bringing the evacuees into DoD medical facilities.

So 3.5 years jailed and presumably tortured at a black site(s) prior to his transfer to Gitmo and eight yrs awaiting sentence. Did I get that right? I would be interested in hearing any practicing lawyer make an argument defending a legal process like this in a western democracy.

So the Coronavirus has a 2 percent death rate and doesn't look to be slowing down. And you may think that with a 2 percent death rate your chances are good, and indeed they are. But if everyone in the world gets it that's 156 million deaths, which is nearly 2x the toll of WWII.

Editorial: Getting rid of 386th District Judge Arcelia TreviΓ±o in the upcoming primary isn't enough. The state needs to investigate her conduct, which includes a record of absences, and throw her off the court.

It's spreading: Six hospitalized for coronavirus after three more cruise ship passengers at Lackland AFB test positive. CDC says we will probably see more victims fall ill with the virus but stresses your chances of getting it are slim to none.

That sounds crazy. Next thing we’ll hear is that the WH staff put beans in ’s Wolf Brand Chili in hopes of making sure some part of his meal was healthy. That may not be unAmerican but it would be very anti-Texan.

James, I’m sorry to hear that. You did well there. I’ll miss your work at Newsweek but will hope to see you reporting on the military elsewhere.
