The A list, the Turkey Shoot, the varieties of hooky experience, my homeboy Angel Del Villar, gear such as it is, and a rousing rendition of "I Am a Cuck" in the new edition of Xgau Sez.

I want this to happen for her--and us. Will accept ideas for how I can do my tiny bit while noting that I seldom apportion my nugatory political contributions along policy lines.

I sure it's hit Twitter 100 times already, I don't follow SNL at all, but when my daughter Nina showed me Andy Serkis's Gollum turning into Theresa May contemplating Brexit I had to flag it. Captures the flat-out EVIL of the process like nothing I've seen.

I don't like Griffin much myself. But follow the link and you'll be both glad and horrified that you did.

I'd make vast 7-1 8-1 at least, Preponderant would mean any majority, while pervasive is not a word properly applied to majorities at all. Big point is that I've been attacking Christianists for decades and refusing to slime all evangelicals since Jimmy Carter.

29 percent of white evangelicals disapproved of Trump's presidency. So what"s "vast"? 7-3 looks more like "substantial" to me, and that assumes all of that majority not only support Trump but are "hateful bigots." You're the rational, tolerant one, right? So calm down.

You can see how the Secretary of State might not take that for the good-natured if admittedly dead-on joshing I'm sure it was intended to be.

As someone who's never been very tolerant of suicide--mostly because of how mean it is to the suicide's survivors--I had no trouble finishing this very long HuffPost essay by someone who's tried many times, thoughtfully timed for the Christmas season.

A final reminder for my ravening fanbase: Eric Lott interrogates me and Is It Still Good to Ya? at 630 tonight in Room 9100 of the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue twixt 34th and 35th. Be there and then have dinner, perhaps at Mandoo, 2 W 32.

Am now following Ocasio-Cortez, which I recommend. This excellent Washington Post piece is a side benefit. I especially like the part where, in the great tradition of Senator-elect Hyde-Smith, Gary Cohn was just joking .

The clearest account I've seen. As something of an impeachment skeptic, I note that the campaign finance fraud we're kvelling about ain't enough. But I also note that the CFO has immunity that KE believes could land DT in jail, demanding an impeachment vote whatever the blowback.

I've always thought Lupica was a good writer, had no idea what he looked like, and less than no idea he could have been an MF Doom fan. Maybe one of his kids turned him on.

Cool. There are few writers I'm prouder to have worked with than Nelson George. What Nelson doesn't know is that when me, my wife Carola, and my daughter Nina played four-way board games together, the phantom fourth player was always designated Nelson.
