Track & field is diverse, egalitarian & the foundation of every sport. And it's under dire threat Colleges are cutting sports thanks to greed & mismanagement. They are like addicts, all-in on the chase for the jackpot, not realizing what they are losing.

NCAA cross-country nationals would coincide with indoor track nationals. Of course, this is idiotic. Maybe we won’t have indoor track.

Training is like sweeping the floor. Just because we’ve done it once, doesn’t mean the floor is clean forever. Every day the dust comes back. Every day we must sweep. — Daniele Bolelli

Just because your running may have looked different doesn't mean you can skip a critical component of your training plan. You still need time to recover.

18 years ago today was the day Jamie never reached the finish line of his last race. Running on this day always brings back memories but it felt special this year to share the day with Shayla. Got in some straights and turns and a few jokes.

Another Cross-Country discussion point. Race Warm-Up 1. Obviously prep for Race 2. Know the course 3. Duplicate the Routine that you plan to do for your biggest race. It is a huge mistake to run a mile or two during the season and then cover the entire course at State Meet.

Couldn't get together with my family today to celebrate Jamie's life so I did the next best thing. After my own run this morning, I took this little lady to Pike Lake for some cross country running of our own.

Took this harrier out to Pike Lake to prep for CC season while reminiscing on my days as a harrier. The best time of the year is right around the corner!

Runners — No one can beat you in the workout. Someone might run a little faster or longer in training, but the opportunity to win/lose only happens on race day. Training runs are not a competition — they’re a time to advance your ability by challenging yourself.

We think we are missing out on a lot by sleeping but, in fact, we are missing out on a whole lot by not sleeping. Sleep is one of the most productive things we can do
