They'll thank you for it, but only if you write them to do so.

Spent an hour reading (for the first time since writing) & adding notes to my NaNo novel. Now I'm going to reward myself with ice cream!

If writing at home is distracting, where do you go to write?

One of the hardest things a learns to do is actually to their own work. From first draft to proofing, we tend to see what we intend to write, rather than what appears on the page. - W. N. Herbert

Writing is HARD. Editing is HARD. Revising is HARD. Querying is HARD. Waiting is HARD. Rejection is HARD. Finding an agent is HARD. Publishing is HARD. Believing in work despite the odds is HARD. Being a writer is WORTH IT.

There is actually someone who chose the username "fatgirllover". Now my friend is feeling self-conscious because she got a message from him...SMH.

Me too. I can be trying to write all night. I'll go in to bed exhausted. Lay down and ten minutes later - BAM! The idea I needed all night.

I'll need to remind myself of this over the next few weeks/months as I revise my NaNo novel!

I have been really slacking lately. I lost my groove after NaNo and now am not sure how to get back into it. Any tips? What gets you back on track with writing when you've lost motivation?

Opened up my email & was so excited to see local author Jocelyn Palmer Dabney on the cover of the library's February Newsletter!! I'm so glad to have met an author who is so involved in the community in so many positive ways!

Yeah, that's a thing. My daughter has Minecraft, but she would rather watch someone on YouTube play than play it herself. SMH...

Just remember Stephen King, JK Rowling, and so many other famous authors got rejection letters. Keep up hope. 😊

I changed day jobs partly for medical reasons, but also because one of the benefits would be that I would have a ton of time on my hands that I could use to write. Apparently I'm doing my job too well because I don't know where the "time to write" went. 🤣
