Nicely done! As an attendee, that conference was money well spent. Really appreciated not having to commute 1,000+ miles for such a nice event! 😁

I was surprised, but glad, to see that the vast majority of money went toward speaker travel. I'll happily give up catered lunches--at any conference I go to--in exchange for bringing in the broadest selection of speakers and attendees.

is easily my favorite tech conference, and also one of the most affordable I've been to. Here's this October's budget breakdown from one of the organizers.

I still feel so grateful of the time I spent talking with at 2018, few weeks ago. Having that kind of access to the creator of a thing you love (clap in his case) is pure luck.

among the topics in the talk is Rust project governance, whose transparency levels and willingness (by leadership) to evolve such governance (a more approachable RFC process) fills me with joy... it's a lucky thing to be part of a community built around such a project

This is a statement from my talk notes from (), and it would be nice if others could share alternative definitions. My talk was on syntax conveniences, but I feel this can apply to other things in programming, like API design.

So now is over, a few details about what my project can do. It's had a few upgrades since Paris! I tried to keep them under wraps to avoid spoilers but I can share them now, in no particular order:

Feedback of the attendees at my workshop has caused me to seriously consider how I can add function trace calls noninvasively to Raft. Maybe like this? ENTRY function_call(param_name: Debug_of_Value, ...) EXIT function_call(param_name: Debug_of_Value, ...)
