Ireland is not in Schengen so they will have their passports checked when they enter Ireland.

That’s not true, everyone (outside the Ireland U.K. common travel zone) has their passport checked on entering Ireland as they are not in Schengen - same as U.K.

Absolutely. There’s still a lot of misunderstanding about checking passports (Schengen) and the right to live and work in a country (Freedom of Movement).

It’s astonishing that May trumpets ‘ending Freedom of Movement’ as a wonderful thing that will make everyone support her, when poll after poll after poll has consistently shown over 60% of people back Freedom of Movement. No interviewer challenges her on that.
