Iowa turnout, compared to 2018 turnout, suggests that Democrats are more energized about beating Trump than they are about any of their 2020 contenders. Hard to say exactly how that plays out when it gets to the general, but I'd still bet on the higher turnout end of the spectrum

Watching on CNN's presidential town hall, it strikes me that I've seldom seen a candidate who responds so intelligently, without reverting to the safety of a stump speech, on such a range of issues. Truly impressive.

Why NBC News is *not* declaring a winner even though the Iowa Dem Party is reporting 100% of the vote: “There are definitely some inaccuracies in the data,” the head of our Decision Desk says.

Donald Trump's lies about health care at the State of the Union signal just how weak he is on the issue, writes.

To the extent NH is watching the marathon, the performances yesterday and tonight seem very likely to reinforce the poll movement toward & who are both on the top of their game tonight. Biden/Warren had moments yesterday, but not as many.

Iowa already has a state primary scheduled for June 2, 2020 - same day as DC, MT, NJ, NM & SD have presidential primaries- maybe they could just retroactively cancel the caucuses and schedule a presidential primary on that date.

Talk to Anthony Carnevale at about the very real risk Sanders is dismissing here.

Why not just have a primary, even if that means ceding the first position to NH? What's the argument for keeping these virtually all-white two states first, especially on the Democratic side?

Health care probably offers Democrats their best chance to inoculate themselves against Trump’s claim that the economy is working for most Americans. But so far, Democrats on the campaign trail are letting the president off the hook. ()

Great ? for at : won't free public college for all shift more upper-income high-testing kids from private to public, squeezing lower-income kids out of limited public spots? "I don't know that is going to be a problem," Sanders says. Many experts disagree

Got that right. After a year of massive courting & attention, that's how many people come out. Add to it to the unrepresentative nature of the state & the absurdity of conducting something this important as an archaic caucus, what's the case for staying number one?

With good reason: her original comments show how determined is to construct an artificial reality-Earth 2-that bears no resemblance to what actually happens here on earth as a way of justifying her actions.
