It’s not the raw speed (which is impressive) but the remaining battery that’s mindblowing 🔋

No idea. Which one of these helpers is the one that eats all your CPU cycles for no reason whatsoever? I'm honestly quite happy I wasn't able to use Docker the last few months on the DTK ;)

Docker desktop is Electron? That makes sense. It's always so slow and hogging memory. It will be interesting to see how these Electron apps work on M1s with 16GB

How Apple's M1 is optimized for native apps: "Native development will have a bigger advantage compared to web technologies, because native apps benefit from the speed and don't have a problem with the memory limitations"

I’ve used the Apple DTK as my main computer since the summer. I’m definitely not going to go back to Intel. They’re FAST The current M1 models are limited (no discrete GPU, Max 16GB, housing not optimized). I leaning towards Mac Mini now and upgrade to a 32GB model MBP next year

🤔 I hope it will be a succinct blockchain, data-agnostic ZKP, and contracts running as ZKP apps in the wallet once (as opposed to on miners). Honestly, I’m not sure if Ethereum really is MS-DOS. You could argue it’s closer to a DEC PDP-8 (the first popular mini computer)

There was a lot of emphasis on the Secure Enclave today. I wonder if the M1 Secure Enclave will be different than the Axx ones. Maybe... Secp256k1 support? (one can hope)

I’ve been using my Mac Mini DTK as main computer since it came out and love it so far (though it would be even better with an affordable Apple retina monitor with FaceID). Sad to give it back to Apple, but I’m super excited to see the biggest Mac update in 15 years.

Covid () Chronicles, Day 237 Didn't plan to tweet today, but can’t resist a few quick takes on vaccine news 90% efficacy is far better than even most optimistic projections. An election analogy: these are CA results, rather than PA. (1/16)

Sadly the video is blocked in the US. I understand the conspiracies spread through two free newspapers focused on organic food and spiritually. Both promote RT articles. That seems to be a unique approach.
