Apple's own app's also seem inconsistent. Settings, Mail, and Stocks seem to use the full margin. (I believe the correct numbers are 10pt for 44mm, 9pt for 40mm.) Calendar and News have maybe a 5pt margin. I *think* those two are incorrect though.

The watchOS HIG talks about layout margins (on the sides) as though they work similar to iOS, but they… don't, right? It seems entirely manual to me, and they don't tell you the measurements either.

Up next: trying to figure out the format for a CLKComplicationTemplateGraphicBezelCircularText template. The generated file is missing the “circularTemplate” value, and shows up blank. I tried manually adding it in a way that seemed correct, but it still doesn’t show 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don't mean it's 2 years ago from when it displays, or whatever. It’s specifically two years ago from today. September 23, 2016. One week after Apple Watch Series 2 came out…? Weird. Anyway I finally got my "3 days" 🎉

The date is stored as seconds since January 1, 2001. Makes sense—the reference date for NSDate. But when it’s used for a countdown, what the heck is it relative to and why? It seems like the reference point is… uh, exactly two years ago? What

Today's weird adventure: what is going on with the dates stored in gallery.ckcomplication? I had to figure this out because I’d like these previews to show something reasonable like “3 days” instead of, uh, “733 days”.

It seems like it’s a fairly random error. From what I’ve heard if you just try to install it again, it’ll work.

I’ve determined scientifically that my iMac is not a fan of the latest Apple products

Thanks! Yeah, the whole app gets scaled up—it’s not working how Apple said it would. Working on an update to fix it!

The Infograph faces have new complication styles, so updates are needed there. Working on it for Deliveries! Seems like there are also some weird issues with apps not installing (trying again fixes that).

OK so it’s installed but won’t launch. Does it help if you delete and reinstall it from the Watch app on your iPhone?

Whew, OK. Either a weird bug then or maybe they have a super old version of Deliveries installed.

Thanks! Yeah, I don’t know what to make of it. I think they’d have to have a very old version for it to be anything like that.

An Apple Watch app built with the iOS 11 SDK should run on the Series 4 watch, right…? I have a customer that's getting a message saying the app needs to be updated? 😅 This video makes it clear apps should run at the old sizes if they're not recompiled:

That capitalized phrase is odd, but this section is telling you how to "Enable full screen native resolution": Also if you do what they say you *will* get native resolution on iPhone X and XS… so whatever they're trying to say, it's not clear.

Right. In the past, new device sizes have always required building with the latest SDK, so the info on their site saying otherwise is strange.

I ordered a few minutes after preorders went live, as soon as it let me in. Said the Sept 21 when I purchased, then Sept 28 - Oct 2 in the email, now Sept 27. UPS no longer has a date and says "awaiting final release", which suggests it's in the US? 🤷🏻‍♂️
