I will say it's interesting to go back and read articles from ten or a dozen years ago, about how the Republicans were doomed because the future was in tech and all the young kids who knew how to code were solidly-liberal Democrats.

And this is going right onto the Nightmare Pile of every kid who's out there thinking "I don't know what I'm doing, I'm just doing Google Searches and copy-pasting what I find, Impostor Syndrome Impostor Syndrooooooome"

Depends on how you play the game. I actually think it’s more interesting if it’s purgatory.

Searching suggests it’s the latter; the phone companies are identifying scam sources and identifying them.

I’ve noticed this with my new phone as well. I don’t know if it’s a phone thing or a phone-company thing, though.

This applies to virtually all engineering and technical work, by the way. Very few things are blank-sheet-of-paper designs; most everything at least *starts* with taking something you've already done and re-scaling it...

But maybe this is pretty much the state of professional coding, at least in the experience ranges that you'll be able to get to work on a government project. Anyone better will ask for more money than you can afford.

My explanation is that after the Avengers movie blew up so huge, Joss Whedon could basically get anything he wanted.

to be fair Winter Soldier happened in the movie storyline and it kinda seemed like SHIELD stopped existing after that?

lengthy columns in Electotaku about how nobody actually *promised* that 100% of the results would be available right away, and that we shouldn't pay attention to marketing materials or trailers because those are just "hype"
