If a project doesn't have the expertise to develop it's own smart contracts, and instead steals and redeploys somebody else's copyrighted code, it's a sign that they don't have the capacity or intention to consider security. Hope developers & users learn from the hack.

Also, if you lift code without vetting it, you better make sure the team that built it is kind enough not to abuse vulns they know about but have yet to disclose

Looks like this attack is using the same ERC777 vulnerability that hit uniswap yesterday. Compound only supports like 6 tokens, none of them ERC777. If they ever choose to add an ERC777, they can add a mutex. Any decent audit would catch this.
