For the upcoming Invisible Disabilities week this October, what is the theme this year and is there a certain hashtag we should use when sharing our stories?

Agreed! This part has always baffled me. Insurance companies are not medical professionals and they weren't the ones to diagnose or talk with the patient face to face.

A4: If it's an elected official, I would ask them to tell me about their gov't funded healthcare plan. I think they have pretty good coverage. Why can't the rest of the country have access, also?

can't afford treatments. So ideally no one should be struggling in a health care system. After all it's called, HEALth care right?! Let's do right by that name.

it just happens. So labeling people with ”pre-existing condition” is a problem. We see celebrities and wealthy people not paying a dime and get treatment at a snap of a finger but you'll see a family trying to make ends meet and a kid who is dying because the parents etc

that covers barely any important doctor visits or medications. We shouldn't have to pay insurance companies or big pharma thousands of dollars a month because of a deductible. Why are we paying to get well? Many chronic disease patients didn't do anything to get sick

An ideal health care system is one that takes care of everyone and leaves nobody behind. No other place in the world do we see such a high amount of chronic disease and other conditions running rampant. People should not have to pay high deductibles for an insurance plan

But there's a ton of grey matter that's not taken into account at all. Many chronic disease patients don't just need ”matienance care” which is what this insurance says when they want us to stop a particular treatment that does help. The stop and go is what sets people back.

people, those with chronic disease and disability don't get the coverage we need for certain tests or treatments, that are helpful for our conditions. If we have surgery we have to stop then resume because we don't fit their mold of showing signs with improvement.

Sorry hoping on here a little late. For chronic disease patients on disability who have Medicare and Medicaid, we often have a cap limit to the amount of money we can use. They usually see things from a black and white perspective, given that Medicare etc is considered for ”old”
