"I’ve been disappointed with myself. I’m my biggest critic. When I have a bad game I beat myself up about it."

OTD 24 years ago, beat Forest 7-0. Two from Bohinen, one from Newell, a stunner from Le Saux, and a Shearer hat-trick, obvs.

I’d say they call in to question the point the manager raised about the one goal margin defeats that I thought you were referring to. No offence taken, but I’d like to think I express more than enough opinion/insight in other pieces than simply the one referenced.

is highlighting the fact they’ve lost 12 of their last 17 away games, conceding 38, and kept one clean sheet in that time not expressing scepticism?

Made reference to it because it was the manager’s response to a question about the away form. Not my opinion. They were better at Fulham, losing 2-0, than they were at Birmingham (1-0), for example.

Just so we’re clear, I’ve never suggested so. Report intro: For all the talk of an improved style, Rovers need a result, one they never threatened, or would have deserved, during a desperately disappointing night at Birmingham City.’ This the follow-up:

Harrison Reed, particularly second half, at West Brom last season probably the best individual performance in my three years. Smallwood-Bennett flying in to tackles v Shrewsbury will always be a highlight.

I’m not agreeing with him. Just including what the manager has said about the away form. Birmingham/Leeds if any team was going to score again, it wasn’t Rovers

Nice touch from Keith Curle about loanee Scott Wharton. “I thought he was excellent. Scott has had a difficult week, his grandfather passed away on Sunday and he put in a performance that I’m sure his grandfather and his whole family would have been extremely proud of."

Few thoughts on Under-23s' defeat last night, focusing on Chapman, Samuel and Davenport in particular

had an in-house game at Brockhall today that Ben Brereton was involved in, which is why he didn’t feature tonight, rather than any fitness concern.

F/T 0-2 Hertha Berlin Billy Barr's side start their PL International Cup campaign with a defeat. Really poor night, particularly second half.

Things get out of hand temporarily. Chapman is nudged off the ball, foul given. Reacts by shoving the Hertha man to the floor. All very unnecessary.

Hertha add a second in stoppage time. Shot is deflected in to the path of sub Gayret who rolls the ball in to the corner (0-2).

Hertha get the goal they've been threatening. Mols loses the ball and that allows Ernesto to break forward and thump a shot beyond Hilton from the edge of the box (0-1)

Huge let off for . Ngankam breaks the offside trap, rounds Hilton, but finds the side-netting with his finish.

haven't got going in this second half. Bretschneider has twice gone close for the visitors. Hour mark reached, still 0-0
