Cupcake and Dino: General Services is basically normalizing gig economy for the next generation. It’s also such a weird show and my kid loves it.

Right! We can't get away from them. All the more reason to seek out a diverse community because, you can't see what you can't see. Unfortunately, it seems that some genuinely think they can "rise above" and be objective.

In other news, the president of an evangelical university is telling the president of the SBC's Ethics and Religious Committee to stay in his lane concerning the care and protection of innocent children at the border. Insanity.

any time I hear someone describe their project as an attempt to be unbiased, I cringe and assume that whatever I hear will, indeed, be quite biased.

How many books, conferences, podcasts and articles are focused on breaking the 200 barrier without even giving churches under 200 the smallest hint about how to be effective at the size they are currently?

Strengthening the Soul of your Leadership podcast is rocking my world. I’m on season 3. This is some of the best spiritual formation training I’ve had in adulthood. Or maybe ever.

Today I was supposed to preach to our students. Power went out and services were cancelled. This is a friendly reminder that when we preach, we first and foremost preach to ourselves, that we might be a prophetic embodiment of the Story. Sermon prep is never in vain.

When my family and I visited the USA three things stood out: (1) Kids initially thought mega-church was a shopping mall; (2) Cops all over parking lot and front entrances of big and small churches; (3) Some elders of churches carry concealed firearms “just in case”.

Not that I wanna turn this into an enneagram insight, but I’m gonna do it. I wonder if my desire to merge earlier is being risk averse and in my my mind, avoiding potential harm. Because dang I feel that anxiety of what could happen every time I merge.

Welp, I stand corrected . Over ten years of marriage, we have fought about what would speed traffic up...he has always advocated for using the entirety of the merge lane. Looks like his wisdom is now being backed up by science.
