The CDC advises we keep our hands clean to protect each other during this pandemic-- but you can’t wash your hands without water. Urge your lawmaker to support Senate Bill 241, which would end water shutoffs during the pandemic. Send a message:

City keeps shutting water off on our block for prolonged periods of time with no notice, even though has a particularly brutal impact on communities. When you call them, they apologize politely, which is nice. But running water is better.

We won't be able to even make our way out of the third surge of COVID-19 unless we ensure people have water to wash their hands — one of the most basic steps people can take to reduce the chance they become infected and to slow the spread of the virus.

We joined 120+ orgs. writing to asking for a moratorium on water shutoffs during the pandemic, but the CDC totally ignored the crisis. Biden should issue an executive order for this on the first day of his administration – lives depend on it.

People can't wash their hands with soap & water if they do not have access to water. During this pandemic, so many families have faced health issues & economic insecurity they never before endured. The last thing they should have to worry about is whether they have water

Incredibly disappointed that SB 241, to codify the exec order ensuring that Michiganders do not have their water shutoff during COVID-19, was pulled from the Senate agenda today. More than 36,000 households outside of Detroit have been impacted - this is a statewide issue.
