Yesterday, the Assembly was in session and passed Assembly Bill 633 with strong bipartisan support. This bill will allow law enforcement to contract out transport services for the emergency detention process.

This weekend is the annual gun deer hunt and I would like to wish everyone a safe and successful hunting weekend! According to the DNR, nearly 600,000 hunters are expected to take part in the 9 day season that begins tomorrow and runs until December 1st!

ICYMI: Assembly Bill 53 was brought to me by a local workgroup tasked with keeping our kids safe in schools. vetoed the bipartisan bill, claiming it was a mandate, when in reality, the bill simply gives local school boards more options. Read the statement here:

His lack of understanding of this bill is apparent. It makes me question whether he’s reading the bills that his staff puts in front of him. It’s going to be difficult to get anything done when he can’t see through the politics on a bill that puts the best interest of kids first.

The veto of AB 53 is quite disappointing. accusation that this is a mandate shows his ignorance to the topic. This bill simply gives local school boards more options to include in their directory data list, which is a choice, not a mandate.

Last night I stopped by Tower Lanes and chatted with the Women’s Affiliate of Beaver Dam about issues that are important to them and our community. They are a strong advocate for business growth and positive contributions to our community. I enjoyed visiting with them!
