Jacquire is the real deal and a class act. Also, I’m a longtime user of speakers and headphones. Great stuff.

I learned loads from (also mostly music) when I did more music mixing. The main rules I retain: 1) Get it right at the source 2) Listen carefully and A and B any plug-ins 3) Make valleys not mountains with the EQ. 4) Use reference audio.

Check those mixers to make sure they actually send all the inputs to your computer separately and not as a stereo track.

All the pros don’t use mixers 😉 Many use an interface and then a control surface (looks like a mixer).

Sounds like you need to use your interface’s zero latency option (depending on what you’re using) for the delay problem. Bad frequencies is usually the mic placement or room.

People think they can’t get proper recordings without top gear, a big studio, the perfect environment. This from is a great demonstration of what you can do with one mic. There’s a lot to learn from this so come try it at More Than Sound

This is likely because the plugins on your mix buss are covering it up. But it’s clipping BEFORE the plugins.

Yep. Adam has been getting it done for years. Good songwriting and talent will take cheap gear very far.

How would you answer this question: Are you successful? What thoughts immediately come to mind? The answer largely depends on how you define success in the first place.
