Hey all! As promised, here's the first installment of my "So Your Jewish Friend is Religious, Practicing, Observant and/Or Orthodox..." series. Feeling a weird mix of excitement and anxiety so I hope y'all read it, enjoy it & let me know what you think!

54—58—62—79—90 If you can remember a phone number, you can remember this, the number of cents for every white male dollar earned by hispanic, native, black, white, and asian women, respectively. Remember this, and ask any 2020 candidate what they plan to do about it.

Very good advice on how to say no. I'll add: ask what the actual expectations are. How much time will it take? How many meetings? Be clear about what you are saying yes or no to before you decide.

If you're a member of an underrepresented group finishing your PhD, consider the Carolina Postdoctoral Program for Faculty diversity. I am happy to try to point you to useful resources if you're thinking of applying.
