I fully agree on this. Product should not be about territories, fiefdoms and tribes trying to prove something. Neither should be about younf companies trying to 'revolutionize the planet'. It's a simple but incredibly powerful concept: value.

That's the whole point, tho. Nothing else matters unless the product is valuable to your customers. It's shouldn't be an implicit definition. It should be painfully explicit.

Yesterday someone on stage at said something to the effect of "kubernetes is now boring." I'm not sure if they were trying to be edgy or what, but could not be father from the truth. K8s is in the most literal sense under intense development and investment as we speak,

In vehement agreement here. You can spend a year coming up with this super sophisticated control-theory feedback system state machine hollzman resonator with flux capacitors and you your customer at: "I'd like automated LDAP backups"

Opinion: in Prduct world the 'V' in MVP should stand for 'valuable', not 'viable'. It doesn't matter if the product is viable if it's not valuable. Other way of thinking about it: the minimal product that would provide _value_ to your customer/user.

Digital Ocean KaaS is cheaper than those two. Generally speaking, though, I agree with you. KaaS will be the better solution for small, non-regulated, limited customization clusters.
