When I met Nitika Kaul Dhoundiyal last August, I noticed this picture she keeps in the back of her phone. Today marks a year since her husband Major Vibhuti Dhoundiyal, Shaurya Chakra, was killed in action in an anti-terror cordon op in Pulwama. He was also her best friend. 🔥🇮🇳

Truth and reconciliation does not arise out of thin air. We wanted the film to be a beginning. A beginning for acknowledgement of what Pandits had to face in 1989-90. It cannot happen as long as the majority community in Kashmir remains in denial. The film is a hammer at denial

Yashwant, the film does not talk about forgiving tormentors. There cannot be any reconciliation between a victim and a terrorist. The film is an attempt to begin conversation between ordinary Kashmiris on both sides of the faultline.
